The Project provides for the construction of improvements at one (1) existing sewage pump station located in Little Rock, Arkansas. The project consists of selective demolition, dry pit pump installation, piping and valving improvements, structural concrete improvements, electrical and instrumentation improvements, site restoration and grading; and other miscellaneous work thereto. Contractor's Bid shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check upon a national or state bank in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total maximum Bid Price, payable without recourse to the Little Rock Water Reclamation Authority, or a Bid Bond in the same amount from a reliable surety company, as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a Contract and execute Performance and Payment Bonds within ten (10) days after Notice of Award of Contract. The Notice of Award of Contract shall be given by the Owner within 60 days following the opening of Bids. The successful Bidder must furnish a Performance and Payment Bond upon the forms provided in the amount of 100 Percent (100%) of the Contract Price from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Arkansas to act as surety, or other surety or sureties acceptable to the Owner. SCOPE OF WORK A. The Work of this Contract is located at the existing Candlewood Pump Station near 13810 Marina Drive, Little Rock, AR, 72212. B. Furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals required and construct the Candlewood Pump Station Improvements in its entirety as shown on the Drawings and as specified herein. C. The Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following: 1. Remove, salvage to Owner, and replace four (4) dry-pit vertical close-coupled solids handling pumps, control panels, and appurtenances at the existing Candlewood dry pit pump station. The existing pump station wet well and dry pit structures are to remain. 2. Demolish and dispose of existing check valves, isolation valves, and piping in the existing dry pit as defined in the Contract Drawings. 3. Remove, dispose of, and replace existing concrete housekeeping pad around the existing pump station structures. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed in writing to Engineer. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents.
