Site work for a civil project in Ames, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and road / highway.
The City of Ames is accepting bids for the removal and replacement of a partial concrete lid at the Telco vault (behind 509 Main Street). A new concrete lid will be poured-in-place. Ames Electric Services crews will remove an underground transformer from the Telco vault after the contractor has removed the concrete lid and prior to the new lid being poured-in-place per drawings and technical specifications. Work shall be completed in a timely manner after given the Notice to Proceed by the Utility. The Notice to Proceed is expected to be given on or before October 10, 2023 with work to be completed no later than December 31, 2023. The City's electric utility is considered a private entity for sales tax purposes. Story County's current tax rate is 6%. The City of Ames, Iowa has an imposed 1% local option sales tax. Freight and some services are exempt from these taxes. All responses must be submitted before the deadline. No late responses will be reviewed. No bidder may withdraw their bid for at least thirty days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids. Questions Deadline: 9/20/2023 05:00 PM (CT) The City of Ames reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to make such awards as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
