The scope of work for this project includes, but is not limited to, the following: Topsoil stripping and stockpile, Remove, salvage, and reinstall fence, Excavate to widen the existing trail and waste material, Full Depth Reclamation and widen base, Install root barrier, Full depth repairs where indicated, Remove damaged culvert ends, Extend culverts and place riprap end treatment, Asphalt concrete pavement, Topsoil replacement Seeding Supply and Install Rolled Erosion Control Matting Class A Other work as indicated in the unit price schedule and special provisions. The Contractor is advised that the existing trail was constructed in 2008 and has sections in poor to very poor condition. The Contractor shall strip along the edge of the existing pathway and excavate material along the path to a sufficient width to accommodate widening the 2.0 m path to a 3.0 m path. The Contractor shall Full Depth Reclaim (FDR) the existing pathway and grade the mixed base material to a width sufficient to accommodate a 3.0 m asphalt surface. The existing culverts shall be extended to accommodate the 3.0 m wide asphalt pathway and riprap end treatment placed. The pathway shall be paved to a 3.0 m surface width paved at a cross slope to ensure water drains off to the side of the trail and does not run along the trail. The Contractor shall replace the stockpiled topsoil, seed, and place Rolled Erosion Control Matting Class A (coconut matting). Unless otherwise specified, the Contractor shall supply all materials necessary to complete the Work. A complete job is called for, therefore any labour, material, equipment, tool or incidental item not specifically mentioned, but necessary for completeness will be considered.
