Stormwater continues to be a priority for the City, as housing and economic development has replaced green space with non-porous surfaces. The City was awarded ARPA Stormwater funds to improve the stormwater collection system in the general area of Illinois and Franklin Streets to eliminate flooding at the Kirksville Fire Department. Storm drains will be installed on Industrial Road land owned by the City for future development. As other funds become available, stormwater projects previously identified are completed based on urgency and timing. Project is included in City of Kirksville Fiscal Year 2025. As of September 9, 2025, project funded for FY2025-2029.
