MML2-006190-20023 The Pearson Park - South & North Bridge Replacement Project involves the removal of both the south and north existing timber pedestrian bridges at Pearson Park in West Des Moines, Iowa. The southern existing bridge crosses over an unnamed tributary and will be removed and replaced with a prefabricated pedestrian bridge. The northern existing bridge crosses over Blue Creek and will be removed. The nearby existing twin 66" RCP culvert will be extended and the trail will be realigned at an at-grade crossing over the new culvert extension. Other improvements include grading and channel revetment. Work on said project shall commence within ten (10) days of the written notice to proceed and shall be completed by November 1, 2024. Liquidated damages in the amount of Two Hundred Fifty dollars ($250.00) per day will be assessed for each day that the work remains uncompleted after the end of the contract period. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract and guaranteeing payment to all persons supplying labor and/or materials in the execution of the work provided for in the contract. Additionally the contractor must provide the City with a guarantee of maintenance of said improvement in the form of surety for a period of four (4) years from the time of acceptance by the City. All bids shall be made on the form furnished by the City through wdm.ionwave.net and shall be filed on or before the time specified above. Each proposal shall be electronically accompanied by a scanned copy of the bid bond or a scanned copy of a cashier's or certified check drawn on an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid.
