Demolition, site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Montreal, Quebec. Design plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for the construction of a 160,000-square-foot, two-story above grade municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
Demolition of the existing Plateau-Mont-Royal service yard, decontamination of the land and construction of a new service yard in the quadrilateral formed by the streets of Mentana, Saint-Grégoire, avenue Christophe-Colomb and the Canadian Pacific railway tracks. The project implementation will allow to increase the efficiency of public works operations in the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough, upgrade buildings to ensure the health and safety of workers, optimize costs related to the borough's road activities by centralizing certain operations, eliminate truck traffic on Rue de Mentana and beautify the surroundings of the site. TIMELINE: The project implementation and design praparation are phased. Working drawings of the first construction phase relating to decontamination, demolition, temporary development and railway retaining wall construction work have been completed and a tender for this first phase has been issued, awarded and is now followed in the report under CRM ID name Mentana / Saint-Grégoire Service Yard Project - Le Plateau-Mont-Royal. Owner expects that demolition work and decontaminatin of the site will be completed in 2024 to proceed to the implementation of subsequent phases. Construction is planned to be completed within a three-year period.
