As of September 24, 2024, Project received one bid, which significantly exceeded the Capital Fund budget. Without additional funds or alternative direction, the Project Manager canceled the project. Each proposal shall be accompanied by bid surety in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the proposal. A certified check or bid bond will be accepted. Attention is called to the fact that Davis-Bacon Act prevailing wage rates must be paid by the contractor and that employees shall not be discriminated against because of race, color, age, religion, sex or national origin. The City of Reading reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, and to accept or reject any part of a bid, as may be in the public interest. Funding for this project is from the City of Readings Community Development Block Grant.
