San Juan County is seeking a contractor to replace a failing culvert pipe located at 156 Wescott Drive (approx. MP 0.15) on San Juan Island.' Estimated Total Cost: $35,000 The County is not holding a pre-bid conference for this project. The project sites are open to bidders for inspection. Oral explanations, interpretations, or instructions given by anyone before the award of a contract will not be binding on San Juan County. Any information given to a prospective bidder concerning any of the bid documents will be furnished to all prospective bidders as an Addendum, if that information is deemed by the County to be necessary in submitting bids or if the County concludes that the lack of the information would be prejudicial to other prospective bidders. All work necessary to replace the failing culvert with a new, 30-inch diameter corrugated HDPE pipe approximately 70 feet in length. San Juan County will furnish the pipe material. The contractor will be responsible for transporting the pipe to the work site from the County's shop facility at 1609 Beaverton Valley Rd. The work includes mobilization, traffic control, excavation, removal and disposal of existing culvert pipe, shoring or extra excavation, trucking and haul, disposal of excavated material, pipe installation, gravel backfill and compaction, pavement restoration, and other work in accordance with the plans and specifications.
