Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in San Mateo, California. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The Consultant will provide engineering design services to design bicycle and pedestrian improvements including Class IV separated bike lanes and a bicycle boulevard, upgrade pedestrian facilities, and connections to existing bike facilities on Delaware Street. The consultant will also consider connection to future bike facilities including but not limited to 19th, 25th, and 28th Avenues. The Consultant shall work with the City's traffic consultant to be able to fully scope the signing and striping plan as well as the traffic signal modifications required for the implementation of the project. The Project will replace existing underutilized Class II bicycle lanes with 0.7 miles of Class IV facilities and add 0.35 miles of bicycle boulevard in addition to crossing treatments at intersections, upgraded pedestrian facilities, and connectivity to the City's existing and planned bicycle facilities for a fully connected portion of the planned bicycle network. The proposed Class IV bike facilities will begin at the north end of the project limits at the intersection of S Delaware Street and 19th Avenue and end at the intersection of S Delaware Street and E 28th Avenue. The bicycle boulevard implementation will begin at the intersection of S Delaware Street and E 28th Avenue and tie-into the existing bike lane facilities on Pacific Boulevard. The Project will also look to reconstruct failed portions of Delaware Street, resurface Delaware Street in anticipation of the new bike lane facilities, and reconfigure or replace existing curb ramps to meet current laws and regulations.
