The City intends to award a contract for an initial term of 3 years with an option to extend the agreement for 2 additional years (5 years total). The Contractor shall implement a preventive maintenance program designed to eliminate or reduce the frequency of malfunction, reduce operational complaints, and extend the useful life of the equipment. The Contractor shall have available and readily accessible all required tools, equipment, apparatus, facilities, skilled labor services and materials to perform all work necessary to maintain the traffic signal facilities in a workmanlike manner. The Contractor shall be equipped with spare parts sufficient to return a defective signal to operation immediately after a call for service. The traffic signal electricians and technicians assigned to the City shall have certification of Level II, or higher Traffic Signal Technician from the International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) or be enrolled in a state approved traffic signal apprenticeship program. The City reserves the right at all times to concur with the Contractor's assignment of personnel to the City. When requested, the Contractor shall replace any personnel assigned to the City whose performance is considered unacceptable to the City or the standards established in this request for proposals.
