A bid bond or cashier's check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount shall accompany each proposal submitted. Upon entering into a contract with the Owner, the contractor must then file a bond for the amount of the contract, and the check will be returned to the successful and unsuccessful bidders when the contract is executed. The Board of County Commissioners may reject any or all bids. The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to waive any irregularities in the form of the bid that do not affect or destroy competitive bidding. In no case will an award be made until all necessary investigations are made as to the qualifications of the bidder to whom it is proposed to award the contract. Attention of bidders is called to all of the requirements contained in this bid packet, particularly to the Federal Labor Standards Provisions and Davis-Bacon Wages, various insurance requirements, various equal opportunity provisions, and the requirement for a payment bond and performance bond for 100% of the contract price. The engineer's estimate on this project is $658,498.50
