Anticipated Award date 11/15/2023 The Owner will only consider proposals made by Contractors that have experience in similar projects, both in scope and price of the work. The Project is to remove and replace the existing Gym floor at the Tullahoma High School. The goal of the Owner is to accomplish Project completion by 31 July, 2024. Contractor will be required to provide a "Little Miller Act" labor and material payment bond or alternate security, as provided in T.C.A. 12-4-201 et seq. equal to a minimum of 25% of the contract price if its proposal is accepted by Owner. Owner, at its option, may require Contractor to provide 100% performance and payment bonds and, by submitting a proposal and the bid bond required herein, Contractor and its surety on the bid bond agree that Contractor will, if requested, provide said bonds. All subcontractors will be required to provide performance and payment bonds unless otherwise agreed to by Owner and Contractor. The work includes alterations of an existing school while students are present; consequently, the prior experience of Contractor candidate on similar projects, as well as a candidate safety record will be carefully considered by Owner. In addition, Contractor must comply with the background check requirement of T.C.A. 49-5-413(d) for all employees of the Contractor, subcontractors and all employees of subcontractors. Contractor must provide, with its proposal, the following information and documents that will comprise the factors used by Owner in the evaluation of proposals: 1. A detailed description of contractor's experience including projects of similar scope and similar price; 2. A resume for the proposed job site superintendent; 3. A copy of contractor's Tennessee Contractor's License; 4. A proposed certificate of insurance; 5. A drug free work place certification required by T.C.A. 50-9-113. A form is attached to this RFP; and 6. A list of all law suits and arbitrations to which the contractor has been a party during the past five (5) years, including law suits and arbitrations that were ultimately settled. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any proposal and waive any and all proposal requirements not otherwise required by applicable laws. This proposal is being accepted pursuant to T.C.A. 49-2-203(a)(3). Proposals will not be open to public and no tabulation will be provided. Proposals may be reviewed after opening at the office of the Tullahoma City Schools but an appointment for the review must be made with Mike Roggli. The Board may, in its sole discretion, invite one or more contractors to interview with representatives of the Board or the administration.
