Description

Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Columbus, Ohio. Working plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The purpose of this project is to provide pedestrian and bicycle accessibility along McNaughten Drive from East Main Street to Ganse Lane (just south of E. Broad Street), through the construction of a shared-use path. It has not been determined whether the SUP will be placed on the east or west side though early reviews considered the west side. Construction costs, right of way and utility impacts and potential location of users will weigh in on final alignment. The project will also install rectangular rapid flashing beacon (RRFB) crossings at strategic intersections. There are existing bus stops along this corridor. Curb and gutter, stormwater facilities and stormwater control practices will also be installed. Prospective design teams should anticipate that this project will receive federal funding.
