Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Columbus, Ohio. Working plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
This project will improve the existing roadway corridor by adding multimodal facilities to accommodate bicyclists and pedestrians as these facilities currently do not existing in its entirety. The anticipated improvements include a 5' wide sidewalk on the east side and a 10' share-use path on the west side. The project will tie into a current City of Columbus improvement project on Cassady Road to the south and a proposed Franklin County Cassady Road project to the north. Additional improvements as part of this project will include upgrading storm sewer, providing storm water control facilities as required, installation of new curb, and improvements or additions to pedestrian crossings and ADA ramps. There are numerous COTA bus stops located throughout the project limits that might require improvements so as to better connect to the proposed project. As the project will include improvements to the Cassady Road bridge over 1-670, coordination with ODOT will be necessary as well as coordination with Franklin County regarding its proposed project. Prospective design teams should anticipate that this project will receive federal funding.
