Shields Township invites qualified contractors to submit proposals for the supply and installation of four (4) speed humps at the specified locations. The objective is to enhance road safety and traffic control. Detailed requirements for the project are as follows: Speed Hump Installation: o Supply and install four (4) speed humps, one (1) each on the following streets: o North Avenue west of Waukegan Road o Washington Avenue west of Waukegan Road o Woodland Road west of Waukegan Road o Jenkisson Avenue west of Waukegan Road o Location of speed humps are marked with white paint. o Speed humps are to match the height and width of the existing speed hump located on Foster Avenue east of Waukegan Road. o Speed humps are to be of the same quality of workmanship and material. o Roads are to be cut and "notched" out before speed hump is installed. o All debris to be hauled and disposed of by the contractor. o Shields Township will perform the final grading of areas with topsoil and sow turf seed. Cost Breakdown: 1. Cost per Speed Hump: $ Speed Hump Striping: o Supply material and apply yellow marking arrows on the new speed hump. o Arrow marking should match the sample located on the existing speed hump on Foster Avenue east of Waukegan Road. o Marking quality should be consistent with existing markings. Work is to be completed by November 10, 2023.
