Lake County School District is requesting: Two sandbox covers that will fit snugly over sandboxes when they are not in use to maintain safe and clean conditions in the sandbox. Possible acceptable designs could include the installation of a wooden or other material fence into the border of the sandbox creating an elevated box to attach a cover. The covers should be made of waterproof and durable material and should be able to be easily latched and unlatched by program staff. Another acceptable design could be a few pieces of plywood custom cut to fit inside the box in a low profile to cover the box nightly, then removed and stored safely for day use of the sandbox. Lease note that the concrete surrounding the sandbox area is heated, so no drilling into the concrete that could damage that system is permitted.
