The City of Bellingham ("City") is seeking submittals (Invitation No. 83B-2023) from engineering firms interested in providing professional design services to the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department for the Little Squalicum Creek Water Quality Retrofits - Phase 2 - Design (EV-0177). The Little Squalicum Creek Water Quality Retrofits - Phase 1 project will improve water quality in Little Squalicum Creek through the installation of bioretention and other enhanced treatment BMPs to treat stormwater generated by 115 acres of residential development in the Birchwood neighborhood within the City of Bellingham. This project will provide stormwater treatment for total suspended solids (TSS), oil (total petroleum hydrocarbons), dissolved copper, dissolved zinc, and total phosphorus and will also reduce flows to Little Squalicum Creek by increasing stormwater infiltration. Services, including professional engineering services, and construction engineering and/or administration, may be added/removed from the contract contingent upon funding availability and project needs. This project is funded through City of Bellingham funds and a Washington State Department of Ecology Grant. Clarification Deadline 10/11/2023 4:00 PM
