The Work includes the following major items: The replacement of approximately 1.9 miles of existing 6"/8" sanitary force main through the combination of pipe bursting/splitting and open-cut methods including four (4) air release valve vaults (ARVs) and three (3) blow-off assembly vaults; the replacement of approximately 593 feet of 18"/20" sanitary force main including one (1) blow-off assembly vault; temporary bypassing and tapping. The Work is subject to the prevailing wage or local hiring laws of Anne Arundel County as more specifically set forth by law and by County policy. The Contractor and any subcontractor must submit the appropriate Wage Requirements Law and Local Hiring forms. This Contract will be constructed under the provisions of the Anne Arundel County Government January, 2001 "Standard Details and Specifications for Construction" and any subsequent revisions thereto. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond acceptable to the County for five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, payable to Anne Arundel County, Maryland; and unless so accompanied, the bid will not be considered. The check or bid bond will be forfeited to the County as liquidated damages in case the contract, performance bond, and labor and materials bonds are not executed within ten (10) days after receiving the contract for execution. Total time for completion, 365 consecutive calendar days. Liquidated damages shall be, $1,000 dollars per calendar day.
