Demolition, site work and addition to a residential development in Hoopeston, Illinois. Completed plans call for the addition of a residential development; for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
Sealed Bid Proposals for the demolition of existing buildings located at 215-229 E. Main Street, 220 E. Main Street (Alternate Bid G5), 308 E. Main Street, 211-213 S. Market and 210 E. Penn Street in Hoopeston, Illinois. A single Bid Proposal will be received for all work: Demolition, Site and General work make up the proposal. Bid Proposals shall be submitted on the forms provided and shall contain no qualifications or interlineations. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bid Proposals or any part thereof and to waive any informalities in the bidding process. Work shall include demolition of existing vacated buildings located in the downtown area. Existing buildings are at different areas and stories. All of the buildings have been inspected sampled and tested for asbestos under a separate contract. Pre-demolition asbestos inspection reports are available for review. All friable asbestos containing material shall be removed under separate contract by the City of Hoopeston in coordination and simultaneously with aselective demolition process. Demolition shall include existing roofing, framing, exterior and interior walls, foundation walls, basement slabs and slabs on grade. Site shall be restored with compacted backfill material. Alternate Bids G1, G2, G3 and G4 shall be for new construction of prefinished, ribbed metal siding on wood furring on existing masonry exterior walls, for protection of common walls exposed by adjacent demolition at 211 E. Main St., 310 E. Main St., 222 E. Main St. and 218 E. Main St. BONDS A Bid Bond, in the form of AIA Document A310 made payable to the Owner in the amount of five (5%) percent of the Base Bid shall accompany each Bid as a guarantee that the Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will execute the Contract and proceed with the work. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond (AIA Document A312) and Payment Bond (AIA Document A312) as specified and in the full amount of the Contract. Cost of such bonds shall be included in the Bid Proposal. The Owner reserves the right to require from any Bidder a detailed statement regarding the business and technical organization and facilities of the Bidder that is available for the contemplated work and alist of his proposed subcontractors. Information pertaining to financial resources may also be required. STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS The successful Bidder will be required tocomply with all laws, statutes, regulations, ordinances, rulings or enactments of any governmental authority which are applicable to the work orto the Project. The successful bidder shall pay prevailing wages as adopted by the City of Hoopeston of the Vermillion County and shall utilize equal employment opportunity hiring practices in connection with this Project.
