The City of Richmond is accepting bids for Effluent Filter Media Replacement to provide general contracting services that include, but are not limited to new construction, site work, and other specialties as defined in the Contract Documents. General Information. The Work to be done under this Contract includes: 1. Install erosion and sediment control (E&SC) measures, including silt fence, inlet protection, permanent seeding, and construction entrance, and material laydown area/material staging area. 2. The work to be done under this contract includes media removal and replacement in nine filters (1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 16) at the Effluent Filter Building at the City of Richmond Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) located at 1400 Brander Street, Richmond, VA 23224 as described and shown in the contract documents. In summary, the project work includes dewatering the filter; removal of man way covers in the filter gallery; removal of the media from above the underdrain, in the gullet; in the plenums under the underdrain (Filter 10 is empty); disposal of removed media on the plant; reinstallation of man way covers with new gaskets, install gravel and sand media (city furnishing gravel and sand media); clean the gullet; cleanup; site restoration; coordination with City; and with all other appurtenances and related work required to complete the project and as described and shown in the contract documents. The project description is general and by no means is it a complete description of the required work. The work also includes all appurtenant work as shown and specified in the IFB and Contract Documents.
