**As of November 16, 2023 this project has been awarded to Finley Asphalt & Sealing, LLC dba Finley Asphalt & Concrete for $61,189.70** The Purpose and Intent of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is to establish a firm fixed price, from qualified sources, for a Contractor to provide all services, labor, and materials necessary for improving the existing access road and parking lot at Sealston Park to be in accordance with Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and King George County, Virginia Standards and requirements; the contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible base bid, not including the additive bid items. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, traffic control, permits, erosion control, and all appurtenant work required to perform the work in accordance with VDOT requirements, as identified in this IFB, and in accordance with all applicable codes, including erosion and sediment control. The scope of work for the base bid includes removing identified portions existing pavement/base material and replacement with compacted aggregate base material and BM-25, overlaying all road surfaces with prime and double seal, and regrading an area for drainage. The scope of work for the additive bid items includes cleaning and sealing cracks in the parking lot, overlaying the parking lot surfaces with prime and double seal, and applying new pavement markings. The Contractor shall obtain all required permits from the King George County Department of Community Development including submittal of any required drawings and/or submittals. The contract term shall be sixty (60) days from the date of Notice to Proceed to substantial completion. An additional fifteen (15) days following substantial completion will be allowed to achieve final completion. A pre-bid meeting will not be held. The selected firm (Contractor) will not be relieved from assuming all responsibility for properly estimating the difficulties and cost of performing the work required by, described in, this IFB because of the failure to become acquainted with all the information concerning the site and work to be performed.
