Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Marcellus, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and road / highway.
This Streetscape Plan prioritizes the pedestrian and placemaking aspects of the streetscape while understanding that Main Street is a state highway. The project works to provide safe access to downtown for all users including pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists of all ages and abilities. The downtown streetscape will include pedestrian scale street light poles, benches, decorative paving, trash and recycling bins, native landscape including shade trees, bicycle racks and sharrows to provide circulation for all user groups, and a new park including a pavilion and sidewalks. and various appurtenances. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in bidding. The use of local contractors and labor is encouraged. A certified check or bank draft drawn on a solvent bank in the State of Michigan payable without condition to the OWNER or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and a surety company, in an amount equal to 5 percent of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Bond in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract price. Bond forms are included in the Contract Documents.
