Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Los Angeles, California. Working plans call for the demolition of a three-story above grade educational facility; for the construction of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

Project Description: Various site demolition with construction of a new media arts building highlighted by the following: Media Arts Building located at 400 W. Washington Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90015. Please note that there are two separate sets of drawings: Project 1: The project scope includes demolition of 3 story building Sage Hall and connecting bridge. Additionally, this scope includes construction of a new LEED Certified three-story 89,445 GSF Design and Media Building (DMA). DMA will consist of classrooms, laboratories, faculty offices, exhibit spaces, instructional support spaces, and associated site and infrastructure rework. Project 2 consist of removal of the existing Theater Building in its entirety including selective salvage, abatement, demolition of the building, and selected site improvements. Additionally, this scope includes filling in the sub-basement of the theater and construction of new walls to close off Magnolia Hall where Theater was removed. The work includes new landscaped areas, hardscape areas, perimeter fencing, added utilities, etc. The Project Will Involve the Following Trades: survey, final cleaning, SWPPP, demolition, reinforcing steel, building concrete, polished concrete, masonry, structural & miscellaneous steel, metal decking, decorative metal railings, rough carpentry, casework & countertops, waterproofing, insulation, roofing, sheet metal & flashing, doors/frames/hardware, elevator door smoke containment systems, glass and glazing, sprayed fireproofing, intumescent fireproofing, lath & plaster, drywall, ceramic tile, acoustical ceiling, acoustic wall panels, floating floor system, resilient & carpet flooring, floor moisture vapor emission control, painting, specialties, signage, bird control devices, cycloramas, window treatments, elevators, fire sprinklers, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, various low voltage systems, grading/excavation, termite control, asphalt paving, site concrete, pavers, site furnishings, landscape & irrigation, and site utilities.
