As of August 18, 2025, this project was removed from the CIP list after a presentation to Council on November 19, 2024. After reviewing the cost estimate, it was decided that this was not a priority and would be moved off the CIP list until more funding was found and alternative design options were created. At this time, the City is not in a position to begin construction on a dog park. Closed solicitation has been included below for reference. ............... The City of Placentia (City) desires to enter into an agreement with a qualified consulting firm to identify the optimal Dog Park location and provide concept design, development, and contract documents for the proposed Dog Park. By this Request for Proposals (RFP), the City is now requesting proposals from firms with substantial design and landscape architectural experience on similar types of public works improvements for the development of the contract documents. There are currently five potential park locations for the Dog Park to be installed. The proposed locations are Parque de Los Ninos, Parque de Los Vaqueros, Kramer Park, McFadden Park, or Richard R. Samp Park. The exact locations of the Dog Park will be determined by the Consultant and City of Placentia staff. The City has identified potential Dog Park areas within the five proposed parks but requires the Consultant to help determine the overall best location including non-City property.
