The City has acquired a grant from the ODOT All Roads Transportation Safety (ARTS) program to retrofit existing traffic signals at selected intersections with new equipment intended to improve safety. This equipment includes pedestrian countdown signal heads and push buttons that provide improved communication to the hearing- and sight-impaired. In addition, left turn signals will be replaced with heads that display the flashing yellow arrow. The intersections included in this project are: 9th Street and Buchanan Avenue 9th Street and Circle Boulevard Circle Boulevard and Kings Boulevard Harrison Boulevard and 29th Street Harrison Boulevard and 9th Street Harrison Boulevard and 5th Street Van Buren and 9th Street Western Boulevard and 35th Street This project is included in the city’s 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Per the owner, as of November 4, 2024, Oregon Department of Transportation is managing this project. Information regarding a design team and a general contractor is not available. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
