As of December 5, 2023 this project was not yet been awarded the timeline for the award was not yet been established. Town of Brookline Request for Proposal Bids are being solicited for painting the exterior of the Historic Brookline Church steeple, shutters and two front doors. A current certificate of insurance is required when submitting your bid as well as a copy of your lead paint certification and anticipated start date. Work must be completed by September 1, 2024 and inspected to the satisfaction of the selectboard before payment. Methods and Materials for the exterior painting are as follows: Provide a suitable high reach lift to access the side and headwalls of the steeple. Scrape all loose and failing paint. Seal nail heads and knots with stain kill. Power wash with bleach and/or TSP then rinse with clean water. Oil prime as necessary any wood to be painted. Repair and re-nail any loose clapboards with stainless ring shank nails. Caulking as necessary. Two coats of acrylic Sherwin Williams latex exterior paint or an agreed upon equivalent. Shutters and two front doors will also be scraped as necessary, primed and painted with the same materials and procedure as the steeple. The Town reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to accept the bid it deems most favorable to the town.
