Ball Field Fencing Question Deadline 10/24/2023 at 12:00 PM CT QUESTIONS SHOULD BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING VIA E-MAIL TO THE PURCHASING AGENT CHRISTINE GRABIN 636.379.5527 cgrabin@ofallon.mo.us QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED BY END OF DAY ON 10/25/2023. All bids must be received in sealed envelopes that have your name and address in the UPPER left corner and the attached label filled in and pasted on the LOWER left corner. Bids mailed EXPRESS MAIL must have bid number and due date on the outside of the EXPRESS MAIL envelope. The City of O'Fallon reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive any irregularities. The City of O'Fallon also reserves the right to select the lowest and/or best bidder as determined by the City in its sole discretion. General Information o City staff will remove all fencing material below 12'. Contractor is responsible for removal of the top 12' of fabric on the backstops. City staff will dispose of all old fencing materials. o The City will pour a curb in the fence line approx. 6" in height for the infield fencing. This will impact the height of the fence material and will require a lot of additional cutting/modification in the field or special order. It is the responsibility of the contractor to take this into consideration when bidding. o Install of all new fence ties, brackets/bolts, and tension bars. Fence ties to be double turned on one end and facing out of the playing field to avoid injury of players. o All posts to remain. BASE BID - Ball field G (See Appendix A) Field G: o Install new 6' overhang o 11-gauge fabric. o 2" extension post to create the 6' overhang on the backstop. o 4" toGeneral Information o City staff will remove all fencing material below 12'. BASE BID - Ball field G (See Appendix A) Field G: o Install new 6' overhang o 11-gauge fabric. o 2" extension post to create the 6' overhang on the backstop. o 4" to 2" backstop adapters. o Framed out with 1 5/8" rail including mid-rail throughout the overhang. o Approx. 55 LF in length. o Backstop o Replace existing chain link fabric on backstops, approx. 55 LF x 24' in height. o Lowest 12' of fabric is to be 6-gauge, highest level of 12' fabric is to be 9 gauge 2" backstop adapters. o Install additional mid rail 1 5/8" approx. 1 foot above mid rail that joins the 6 and 9 gauge of fabric together throughout entire 55 LF of backstop. o Section between corner of 24' backstop and the start of the dugout on first base side o This section is approx. 38' in length. o It is to be replaced with fabric height of 11'. o Section between corner of backstop and the dugout on third base side o This section is approx. 38' in length. o It is to be replaced with fabric height of 11'. o Dugout first base side o Fabric approx. 28' x 7' 1/2 " of field side of dugout. (Will require custom cutting to be below the framing of the roof). o Fabric approx. 32' x 7' of back side of dugout. (May require custom cutting). o Fabric approx. 7' x 8' on side of dugout (Will require custom cutting to meet the angle of the roof with one piece). o Dugout third base side o Fabric approx. 28' x 7' 1/2 " of field side of dugout. (Will require custom cutting to be below the framing of the roof) o Fabric approx. 32' x 7' of back side of dugout. (May require custom cutting). o Fabric approx. 7' x 8' on side of dugout (Will require custom cutting to meet the angle of the roof with one piece). o Sideline Fabric o First base side First section approx. 40' X 7' 1/2 " - Total of 8' with 6" curb. Second section approx. 159' X 6' Add bottom rail 1 5/8" approx. 159 LF of bottom rail. Use existing double gate framing - Approx. 21' opening. All new fabric on gate to include latch and center locking post. Straighten existing hinges. o Third base side First section approx. 40' X 7' 1/2 " - Total of 8' with 6" curb. Second section approx. 166' X 6' Add bottom rail 1 5/8" approx. 166 LF of bottom rail. New locking hardware and center post. Straighten existing hinges and replace 12' of fabric on gates. o Fabric (All New) o Backstop fabric to be 2" x 6-gauge x 12' tall, galvanized chain link fabric for the first 12 feet of height and 2" x 9-gauge x 12' for the second 12 feet. o Fabric to be 2" - 9-gauge x 12' tall, galvanized chain link fabric at wings between backstop and dugouts. o Dugout fabric to be 2" - 9-gauge galvanized chain link fabric. o Fabric to be 2" - 11-gauge x 6' tall, galvanized chain link fabric at overhang section of backstop. o Sideline fabric to be 2" - 9-guage galvanized chain link. o Framed out with 1 5/8" rail including mid-rail throughout the overhang. o Approx. 55 LF in length. o Backstop o Replace existing chain link fabric on backstops, approx. 55 LF x 24' in height. o Lowest 12' of fabric is to be 6-gauge, highest level of 12' fabric is to be 9 gauge
