The City of Marco Island is soliciting bids to construct a new collections and distribution building(base bid) and covered storage structure (add alternate) to be located at 807 East Elkcam Circle,Marco Island, FL 34145. The scope of work includes but is not limited to: New Collection and Distribution Building (Base Bid): 1. Site preparation and grading 2. Extension of approximately 350 of 10 potable water pipe 3. Extension of approximately 80 of 6 sewer service line 4. On-site drainage including underground stormwater detention system, and offsitegrading 5. Paving, curbing, parking lot striping 6. Concrete ramp, sidewalks, pads and handrails 7. 100kW Generator, transfer switch, and wiring 8. Construction of a new 7,123 sf building to house the Collections & DistributionDepartment Covered Storage Structure (Add Alternate): 1. Site preparation and grading, including removal of existing concrete sidewalks Construction of a new 2,658 sf Covered Open Storage. In accordance with State law and City ordinances, the City reserves the right to reject bids foradministrative, including contractor responsiveness and/or contractor responsibility, or budgetary reasons, unbalanced bids, reject any individual bid that does not conform to theintent and purpose of the Contract Bidding Documents from any person or entity that hasfailed or is failing to properly perform similar work for the City, failed to satisfy claims on previousor current contracts with the City, or has previously failed to perform properly or complete,on time, contracts of a similar nature. The prospective contractors shall be aware thatperformance as a prime contractor or subcontractor on previous or current City contracts or anycurrent or past (within last 5 years) litigation against the City might be taken into account inevaluating proposals received for this contract. Furthermore, the City reserves the right topostpone award of the contract for a period of time which shall not extend beyond 120 calendardays from the bid opening date.
