Renovation of an educational facility in Isla Vista, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, insurance, and services to perform a roof replacement at the University Center 1 Building 558, located on the UCSB main campus, including, but not limited to, the following: Contractor shall disconnect, remove and store or dispose of existing mechanical equipment including air handling units, refrigeration units, and exhaust fans, as indicated in the Construction Documents. Disconnects shall be performed on water supply, gas, condensation lines, electrical supply, and ductwork, and Contractor shall demo, remove and dispose of existing roofing and associated insulation at all roofs, install temporary protections required during construction, perform existing concrete slab penetrations for new overflow rain drain including, but not limited to, area of work protection, coring, saw cutting, demo and removal and disposal of concrete slab, and reinforcement, patch and repair existing roofing and insulation at all roof-mounted HVAC equipment penetrations, provide and install new backer rod and joint sealant at concrete panel joints, and install new 80 mil minimum, thermoplastic membrane with fabric or fiberglass reinforcement over board and tapered insulation, as indicated in the Construction Documents. Contractor shall also provide and install new flashing 60 mill membrane with fabric or fiberglass reinforcement at all wall parapet or curb, provide and install new continuous cleat coping at wall parapets, install existing or new HVAC equipment including, but not limited to: roof packaged units, mini-split units consisting of indoor fan coils and outdoor heat pumps, air conditioner systems, exhaust fans, as indicated in the Construction Documents. University's Representative, Paul Kouns, Jr. at pkouns@ucsb.edu. Meeting attendees may attend the pre-bid conference and job walk remotely via Zoom, if desired. The Zoom meeting will include a virtual job walk presented by the University staff. A subsequent, in-person job walk may be scheduled with the University Representative, upon request. Remote participants may attend the mandatory pre-bid conference via Zoom by using the following link: https://ucsb.zoom.us/j/81003074712 Meeting ID: 810 0307 4712 Only bidders who participate in the initial (virtual or in-person) pre-bid conference, will be allowed to bid on the Project as a prime bidder. Only attendees as the original pre-bid conference will be permitted to schedule a subsequent site visit with the University Representative. In person attendees are advised that there may be traffic congestion and parking may be difficult. Bidders should allow ample time to drive to the above location in heavy traffic, find a parking space, walk to the building, and arrive in the designated meeting room prior to the required time. Any prospective Bidder arriving after the above designated starting time may be disqualified from submitting a bid for this project. Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the Lump Sum Base Bid shall accompany each Bid. The Surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the Bid Deadline, an admitted surety insurer (as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120). The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: General Building Contractor B License
