Renovation of an educational facility in Urbana, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Art & Design Building and Turner Hall Substation. Project Description Art + Design replace the two (2) unit substations in room 0045 with one (1) new unit substation. Currently one unit substation (meter 0219-E1) feeds Art & Design, and the other (meter 0220-E1) feeds Krannert Art Museum. Meter 0219-E1 is a 4160V-208Y/120V, with a 750kVA transformer and two (2) 1600A main breakers. Meter 0220-E1 is a 4160V-208Y-120V with a 225kVA transformer. The loads associated with Krannert Art Museum unit substation (meter 0220-E1) will be refed from the new unit substation via a splice box inside the existing electrical room. These loads will be sub-metered. At Turner Hall, there are two unit substations located in S18 on the basement level. One unit substation (meter 197-E1) is 4160V - 208Y/120V with (2) 3000A main breakers and a 750kVA transformer. The second unit substation (meter 197-E2) is 4160V - 480Y/277V with (1) 3000A main breaker and a 750kVA transformer. The existing area well is blocked on the front, right, and above by the building. This makes dropping in new substations via the area well not feasible. Because of this, a new 1,000 kVA 4160-277/480V transformer will be installed on site and feed a new 1200A, 480/277V switchboard located in S18. There will be a 500kva 480-120/208V transformer and 1200A, 208/120V switchboard located in S18. The existing load are fed out of a top hat junction box located over the existing substations. The new switchboards will be located under these boxes to connect new to existing.
