The Town of Guilford is seeking competitive bids for the construction of a Two Apparatus Bay Addition to the Guilford Fire Headquarters, located at 390 Church Street, Guilford, CT 06437. Any questions regarding the specifications may be directed, in writing only, no later than 4 p.m. on Monday, November 20, 2023 to Assistant Fire Chief Michael Shove at mshove@guilfordfire.com with a copy to Attorney Peter Barrett at barrettp@guilfordct.gov and Joan Fain at fainj@guilfordct.gov in the Purchasing Department. Each bidder will be required to submit to the Office of the First Selectman, their original proposal with one (1) copy, one (1) electronic copy (flash drive), and a bid bond or cashier's check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the base bid. Each bidder shall honor the bid price for ninety (90) business days from the date of the bid opening, without modification. Upon award of the bid, the winning bidder shall be bound by the bid proposal price throughout the contract period. The minimum rates to be paid for labor on various classifications of the project shall be in accordance with the current schedule of prevailing wages established by the Connecticut Department of Labor, Wage and Workplace Standards Division. Refer to the prevailing wage rates included within the specifications. The Town of Guilford reserves the right to reject any or all bids; or to waive defects in same, if it deems such to be in the best interest of the Town.
