Renovation of a museum in Amherst, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a museum.

Specifications Base Bid: #1-10 1. The Overall Scope of the Project is the Finishing and Improvements to the Metal Building (Hamble Center) for the Amherst County Historical Museum. 2. Acquire All Required Building Permits. 3. Wood Frame 2x4 Walls on 16-inch Center, Insulated to Code Around the Inside of the Perimeter of the Building With the Exception of the Existing Kitchen and Bathroom Area. The Kitchen and Bathroom Area Will Need Existing Wall to Extend to the Ceiling. 4. All Walls and Ceiling Covered With Drywall Finished Smooth With Hvac Duct Remaining Exposed Except for the Kitchen and Bathroom Area. Including Additional Blown in Insulation in Ceiling to Meet Code. 5. Frame a Storage Closet That Will Also Enclose the Electrical Service Box. Provide Double Entry Doors for the Storage Area and an Additional Door to Access the Electrical Service Box. This Space Will Be Approximately 6'x25'. 6. Provide and Install New Dimmable Led Lighting in Two "Zones", Add Additional Lights in the Storage Closet Area and Above the Electrical Service Box, and Add Electrical Outlets Every 6 Feet to Code. 7. Provide and Install Commercial Grade Lvt Flooring (Glued) and Vinyl Baseboard Throughout the Building Except the Kitchen and Bathroom Areas. Provide and Install Transitional Materials to the Kitchen and Bathroom Area. Colors Shall Be Selected by the Owner. 8. A Minimum of a Primer and 2 Coats of Latex Paint Will Be Required for the Walls, Ceiling, Doors and Trim. Colors Shall Be Selected by the Owner. 9. Provide Structural Backing on the Walls for Miscellaneous Artifacts Up to 100lbs in 6 Locations Identified by Museum Within the Building. 10. Accommodations for Museum Inventory That Cannot Be Removed From the Building Will Need to Be Made by the Contractor. The Contractor Will Be Responsible for Any Damages to Inventory. The Contractor Shall Procure, Maintain, and Provide Proof of Insurance Coverages for Injuries to Persons and/or Property Damage as May Arise From or in Connection With the Work Performed on Behalf of Amherst County by the Contractor, His Agents, Representatives, Employees, or Sub-contractors. Such Coverages Shall Be Maintained by the Contractor for the Duration of the Contract Period. 9.1 Minimum Coverage and Limits: 1. General Liability: $1,000,000 Combined Single Limits Per Occurrence. 2. Workman's Compensation: as Required by the Worker's Compensation Act of Virginia. 3. Automobile Liability: $1,000,000 Per Occurrence. 9.2 All Coverage 1. The Insurer Shall Agree to Waive All Rights of Subrogation Against Amherst County, Its' Officers/officials, Agents, Employees, and Volunteers for Losses Arising From Work Performed by the Contractor. 2. The Insurer Shall Provide 30 Days Written Notice to Amherst County Before Any Cancellation, Suspension, or Void of Any Coverage in Whole or in Part Where Such Provision is Reasonable.
