The bridge was constructed in 1906 and consists of five spans. The footbridge spans Riverside Drive, several railroad tracks, the Willimantic River, and has a total length of 633 feet. In 2004 the bridge underwent a rehabilitation project which included structural repairs, a new wood deck and painting of the steel structure. It is the Town's desire to have the bridge superstructure and substructures inspected (hands-on). A report shall be prepared consistent with other CT DOT Bridge Safety reports across the state. The firm shall obtain any permits from railroads and pay inspection / flagging fees necessary to perform the inspection. These will be reimbursed at cost with no mark-up. The Town of Windham reserves the right to award the project to the firm in the Town s opinion its best interests will be served.
