Although there is no requirement that bidders be DCAMM certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance for the category of work, it is highly suggested. Contract Award/Notice to Proceed is anticipated to be awarded by December 13, 2023. All work shall begin as soon as possible with anticipated completion by January 31, 2024. In general, the scope of work includes demolition and disposal of the building except for the foundation walls that are supporting the adjacent earth embankment. There is also the need for hazardous material abatement, primarily asbestos. Upon request, bidding documents will be sent electronically to all Contractors. The Contractor will be required to pay prevailing rates of wages for all work performed on the project in accordance with the schedule of minimum wage rates issued for the project by the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Occupational Safety, under the provisions of Mass. G.L.c.149, 26 and 27. All submitted bids must be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a bid bond, or cash, or a certified check on, or a treasurers or cashiers check issued by, a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the Woods Hole, Marthas Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority in the name of which the contract for the work is to be executed. The amount of such bid deposit shall be five percent (5%) of the TOTAL CONTRACT PRICE set forth in the bid. The Steamship Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to modify or amend with the consent of the bidder any bid prior to acceptance, and to waive any informality, all as the Authority in its sole judgment and discretion may deem to be in the public interest.
