Site work, paving and new construction of a civil project in Issaquah, Washington. Design plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; and water / sewer project.
This project includes improving culvert crossings on I-90, SR 900 and several City streets. Work elements include new alignments of streams, new bridge structures, retaining walls, relocation of major utilities, a new roundabout, altered freeway access and more. The fish passage projects are complex and will have significant impacts on City streets and property. WSDOT's work will be completed by a design-build team, which requires expedited reviews by City staff as the project progresses quickly from design through construction. Work will require timely coordination to ensure City comments and reviews can meet WSDOT's tight timeframe. This project will be on an as-needed basis, with the anticipation that the selected firm will retain the services as an individual who will act as the primary City Project Coordinator. The City Project Coordinator could be allocated up to full time during certain phases of the project. As of February 27, 2024, a design firm has been selected. Further details regarding CD completion, bid schedule, construction, and completion timelines have not been released.
