The Board of Education of School District U-46, Kane County, Illinois, hereby gives notice that sealed lump sum bids will be received for the REBID of Mechanical System Replacement at Sycamore Trails Elementary School. The work includes the replacement of the mechanical system and all associated work at Sycamore Trails Elementary School, 1025 Sycamore Lane, Bartlett, Illinois 60103. Refer to Drawings and Project Manual for full extent of the work required Intent to Bid Due Date Online Portal Deadline to indicate your intent to Bid Dec 6th 2023, 4:30 PM CST Yes Questions Due Date Online Portal Deadline to submit Questions Nov 29th 2023, 12:00 PM CST N/A Responses Issued Online Portal District administration will respond to any questions. Dec 1st 2023, 12:00 PM CST No Receipt of a Bid Bond of ten percent (10%) of the amount of the base bid(s), (including all alternates and allowances) or a Cashier's Check made payable to School District U-46, is required prior to the time of the virtual bid opening. Contractor shall send the original Bid Bond or Cashier's Check to Plant Operations' Office (School District U-46 Plant Operations Office, located at 1460 Sheldon Dr., Elgin, Illinois 60120, Attn: Danise Smith) via Certified mail, UPS, or FedEx to ensure confirmed delivery prior to the Bid Opening. If Contractor has an electronic certification process, then they will be able to upload the Bid Bond into the bidding portal. Bids will not be accepted without a Bid Bond / Cashier's Check at Bid Opening. These can be dropped off Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CT. CONSTRUCTION BONDS REQUIRED: Upon award of Contract, a Performance Bond and Material & Labor Payment Bond will be required from the General Contractor for 100% of the contract sum, payable to the Owner. PREVAILING WAGE LAW: This project is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130). PREQUALIFICATION PROCEDURE: All interested bidders are required to complete an AIA Document A305 Contractor's Qualification Statement and submit them with all bidding documents at the time of bid. BID GUARANTEE: Contractors shall guarantee their submitted Bid Proposal for a ninety (90) day period from the date of Bid Opening. December 19, 2023 Possible Letter of Intent/Notice to Proceed to be Issued. Start Remaining Shop Drawings and submit to Engineer within one week of receipt of Letter of Intent. Generate Construction Schedule for each school awarded and submit with signed AIA Contract January 22, 2024 Anticipated Award of Contract by School District U-46 Board of Education. Contract to be issued immediately the next day. June 5, 2024 Work to commence on June 5, 2024, or earlier if approved by District. June 17, 2024 All MAJOR EQUIPMENT MUST be delivered on site no later than this date. Any and all costs incurred for expedited production schedule and expedited shipping schedule shall be included in the contractor's bid. July 31, 2024 Substantial Completion. Work has been reviewed by the authorities having jurisdiction, Regional Office of Education (ROE), manufacturer's representative and Engineer, all system certifications have been provided and all electrical devices connected and safe. Punchlist inspection has been requested and performed by the Engineer August 7, 2024 Final Completion (This means that all Punchlist items shall be completed and all closeout documents and final pay application shall be submitted no later than this date.)
