Construction Services for relocation of the Temporal Bone Lab in the Philips-Wangensteen Building, located on the east bank of the Twin Cities campus. 2022022 UMN# 01-144-23-2135 The Board of Regents of the University of Minnesota (the "University") is requesting Proposals to provide construction services for relocation of the Temporal Bone Lab in the Philips-Wangensteen Building (PWB), located on the east bank of the Twin Cities campus (the "Project"). The total construction budget for this Project is $735,000 (current dollars, no escalation). The University requires the Project to be substantially complete by no later than August 9, 2024. Question Deadline 11/20/2023 at 12:00 PM CT Questions regarding this RFx shall be submitted through the MBid sourcing tool Online particular attention to the Question Cutoff Date as the University is not obligated to respond to any questions that are received after this deadline. Scope of Work PWB 8th Floor, Temporal Bone Lab rev3: During the proposed installation EPA Audio Visual, Inc. will be incorporating a presentation, conferencing, and recording system. Video: o Dual 65" displays will be wall-mounted at each side of the room. o 15 owner-furnished microscopes will output an HDMI signal to a 27" monitor mounted at each station. o These monitors will only receive signals from the microscopes. o Input sources for presentation will include two (2) auxiliary HDMI connections and a wireless presentation system. o System aspect ratio will be formatted for 16:9 with a maximum display resolution of 4K. Conferencing: (EasyIP USB 3.0) o Two (2) PTZ cameras will be wall/ceiling-mounted and will capture the instructor/table locations. o The cameras will be extended to the AV bridge location where it will be converted to USB 3.0. o A wireless lavalier and handheld microphone will provide both speech reinforcement in the room as well as outgoing audio for web conference. o The EasyIP web conferencing mixer/decoder system will convert the AV-over-IP signals into a single USB 3.0 feed for web conferencing. o The AV bridge system will only connect to a laptop/PC at the instructor station. o The device that is hosting the web conference must utilize its in-app local presentation. o Devices that require HDCP cannot be utilized as presentation sources Recording: o For recording, the HDMI outputs of the 15 owner-furnished microscopes will be routed to the main equipment rack and converted to an IP signal for a Network Video Recorder (NVR). o Each microscope will get its own channel and will be accessible through a web interface of the (NVR). o An Extron digital annotator will be provided for an annotation/user interface using a touch monitor at the instructor station. The system will allow the user to annotate over a selected microscope live feed including the ability to image freeze and capture to an external flash drive or network location. Audio: o An audio DSP will be installed to route, balance, and equalize audio within the room. o The audio DSP will also accommodate web conferencing. o Four (4) ceiling-mounted speakers will distribute program audio evenly throughout the space. o A wireless microphone system with one (1) handheld and one (1) bodypack with lavalier will be installed to provide local reinforcement within the space as well as provide speech pick-up to the far end. o A rack-mounted, 2-Channel amplifier will power the speakers within the space. o Local speech reinforcement is part of this system. o An assistive listening system with four (4) receivers will be included. Control: o A 10" tabletop touch panel will be located at the instructor location. o Functions will include power on/off, input source selection, camera PTZ control, camera switching, camera PIP controls, conferencing control, and volume control. o The control system will not be on the customer's building network. Equipment Rack: o A 27-RU, freestanding rack will be located in the space to house all necessary equipment.
