Renovation of an educational facility in Simi Valley, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The Project includes, without limitation, furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment and other incidental and appurtenant Work necessary to satisfactorily complete the Work as more specifically described in the Contract Documents. The Work will be performed in strict conformance with the Contract Documents, permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction and applicable regulations, and includes, but not limited to: Classroom Renovations including: moving of furniture and boxes, demolition, painting, marker boards installation, tack boards, casework, wall construction, window blinds, campus-wide notification system, and associated work as indicated in the plans and specifications. It is District policy that estimates of the costs to construct the Work, Project funding and Project Budgets are not published or disclosed. Pursuant to Public Contract Code 20111.5, the District will only consider Bid Proposals submitted by Pre-Qualified Bidders; a Bid Proposal submitted by a Bidder who is not a PreQualified Bidder will be rejected for non-responsiveness. The Instructions to Bidders describes the prequalification requirement in more detail. Contractors are to prequalify through Quality Bidders. The District must receive a contractor's completed prequalification approval through Quality Bidders, fifteen (15) days prior to bid opening date. Bidders must possess the following classification(s) of California Contractors License at the time that the Bid Proposal is submitted and at time the Contract for the Work is awarded: B - General Building The Bid Proposal of a Bidder who does not possess a valid and in good standing Contractor's License in at least one of the classifications set forth above will be rejected for non-responsiveness. Each Bidder must be a DIR Registered Contractor when submitting a Bid Proposal. The Bid Proposal of a Bidder who is not a DIR Registered Contractor when the Bid Proposal is submitted will be rejected for non-responsiveness. All Subcontractors identified in a Bidder's Subcontractors' List must be DIR Registered contractors at the time the Bid Proposal is submitted. Pursuant to California Labor Code 1773, the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations of the State of California has determined the generally prevailing rates of wages in the locality in which the Work is to be performed. Each Bid Proposal shall be accompanied by Bid Security in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of the Bid Proposal, inclusive of the proposed price for any additive Alternate Bid Item(s). Failure of any Bid Proposal to be accompanied by Bid Security in the form and in the amount required shall render such Bid Proposal to be non-responsive and rejected by the District. The award of a contract for the Work, if awarded, will be by action of the District's Board of Education to the responsible Bidder submitting the lowest priced responsive Bid Proposal. The District reserves the right to reject any or all Bid Proposals or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any Bid Proposal or in the bidding.
