The project consists of preservation work of a six span welded steel plate girder bridge addressing priority maintenance items of the existing structure carrying SR 3020 traffic over the Lackawanna River and Delaware / Lackawanna Railroad. Preservation items for the existing structure include bridge and drainage structure cleaning; spot and zone painting of the existing structural steel; resetting or replacing expansion bearings; replacing bronze bearing plates and steel guide plates; replacing downspouting, neoprene drain trough, sliding plates, and bridge expansion joint seal system; concrete deck and spall repairs; and scarification and polyester polymer concrete overlay. Additional work includes excavation, temporary railroad crossing construction, E & S control measures, railroad protective services and other miscellaneous construction work as necessary. Traffic will be accommodated using detours and long term lane closures as needed to complete construction as indicated on the approved drawings included in the bid package for STATE ROUTE 3020, SECTION P50, LACKAWANNA COUNTY CITY OF SCRANTON from the intersection of SR 3020 and SR 3029 (N 7th Street) at segment 0010 offset 1644 to approximately 100 feet East of the intersection of SR 3020 and Mifflin Ave. at segment 0020 offset 0068.
