Site work, paving, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Athelstane, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the construction of a 9,868-square-foot fire / police facility; for the renovation of a fire / police facility; for site work for a fire / police facility; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The project is a new 9,868 square foot single story building with a few small mezzanines. The building is a pre-engineered steel building. The roof is a metal standing seam roof with a fiberglass batt insulation system. The exterior walls are insulated metal wall panels along with a brick veneer wainscot. The foundation is reinforced cast-in-place concrete frost foundation and floor slabs. The mezzanines are light gauge steel joists on load bearing metal stud walls. The project includes painted FRP doors and frames, aluminum windows, metal stud and drywall interior partitions, gas fired infrared heat for the apparatus garage and gas fired fan forced air furnaces for the finished spaces, electrical, plumbing, a new septic system, earthwork and asphalt paving. The project is to be awarded the week of December 11, 2023. The project's substantial completion date is December 18, 2024. The building exterior and site work including asphalt and concrete pavement is to be substantially complete by October 31, 2024. The generator and automatic transfer switch is to be substantially complete by March 31, 2025. No proposal will be accepted unless accompanied by a certified check or bid bond equal to at least 5% of the amount bid, payable to the Town of Silver Cliff as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and certified check or bond within 15 days after the award of the contract. BIDDER is required to deliver the original certified check or bid bond within the 72 hours of bid opening to MSA Professional Services, Inc., Attn: Al Szymanski, 1230 South Boulevard, Baraboo, WI 53913. The certified check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder as soon as the contract is signed, and if after 15 days the bidder shall fail to do so, the certified check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the Town of Silver Cliff as liquidated damages. Performance and Payment Bonds for the full contract amount shall be required from the successful Bidder. Prequalification of bidders will not be required. Bidders to whom award of a Contract is under consideration shall submit to Architect, upon request, a properly executed AIA Document A305 Contractor's Qualifications Statement. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 30 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. This project will use Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funding. Attention of Bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract, Section 3, Segregated Facility, Section 109 and E.O. 11246.
