**As of December 14, 2023, project was awarded to PBS Contracting Inc but awarded amount is not available.** This project is generally described as modernization of the two (2) hydraulic elevators in the Dominion residential dormitory of George Mason University. Modernization consists of updating the hydraulic power units, replacing the lights and air conditioning units in the machine room and the replacement of all call buttons, hall lanterns, and card readers located in the elevator lobby of each floor. Additionally, the elevator car will be upgraded with new stainless steel interior panels, handrail, lighting and call buttons. Modernization of the elevator hoistway and pit includes the replacement of the ladder, roller guides, lights and jack. All necessary modifications shall be made to bring the elevators up to current code. The dormitory will not be occupied during construction. Bidders Questions must be submitted through Mason's Construction Management Software Project, eBuilder on or before Tuesday, 21 November 2023. Responses to questions will be issued by Addendum. Owner reserves the right to respond to any questions received after the date as indicated in the Invitation for Bid. It is the policy of George Mason University to contribute to the establishment, preservation, and strengthening of small, women and minority owned businesses (SWaM), as certified by the Commonwealth of Virginia's Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity (SBSD), and to encourage their participation in Mason's procurement activities. To this end, Mason has established an overall SWaM participation goal of 50% for fiscal Year 2024 and encourages Contractors to provide for the participation of SWaM businesses through partnerships, joint ventures, subcontracts, or other contractual opportunities.
