Renovation of a fire / police facility in Apex, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
The current Fire Department Administration Building occupies an old Apex EMS station with 2,400 square feet of office space for 13 full-time employees and is currently shared with Wake County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) staff and one ambulance. This building is scheduled to be demolished during the NC 55 construction project in the coming years. A new Fire Department Administration Building, at current Fire Station 1 property will address insufficient space available for offices, meetings, training, parking, and storage. As of November 12, 2024, this project is included in the Town of Apex's 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and funding is allotted for FY 25-27. Further information regarding a design firm and timeline for construction has not yet been determined. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
