This RFP is to solicit for a qualified firm who is expected to: Perform an inspection on all mortar joints located above the waterline. Remove any vegetation or foreign materials present in the mortar joints above the waterline prior to removal of any failed mortar from the joints. Repointing of any joints found to contain failed or weak mortar on Piers # 2, 3 & 4. Per the Engineer's report, failed joints are not anticipated to exceed approximately twenty five percent (25%) of the joints. Reset any stones found to be loose due to the failure of mortar joints. Provide all labor, material, travel, tools, equipment and permits necessary to perform the work. November 29, 2023 Deadline for submittal of questions Sheboygan County is soliciting bids for the restoration of bridge pier mortar joints associated with the Shoreland 400 Recreational Trail spanning the Sheboygan River in the City of Sheboygan. Work under this contract is expected to be performed in the Spring of 2024 once ambient temperatures are suitable for masonry work. Bidders shall provide with their bid a Bid Bond or certified check payable to County of Sheboygan in an amount of not less than Five percent of the total Base bid amount. The awarded bidder shall provide a performance and payment bond equal to one hundred percent of the total amount of the contract within ten days of receipt of the notice of award. All bids must remain in effect for not less than sixty days following the due date. All bids received become the property of Sheboygan County and may not be withdrawn with the express consent of Sheboygan County. Sheboygan County reserves the right to reject any bid, cancel this solicitation, waive any informality in the bid process and award the bid deemed most advantageous to the County of Sheboygan.
