Sincerely, Jordyn Greenhaw Director, Mozingo Lake Recreation Park The City of Maryville is accepting sealed bids for interior painting to the second floor of Mozingo Event Center located at 1 Fall Dr. This project includes the banquet rooms, soft room, lobby, stairwell, and vestibule. The selected contractor will be responsible for providing labor, tools, and equipment necessary for the successful completion of the project. The City, will supply the paint materials once the selected contractor provides amount of paint needed. These specifications, standards, and tasks, cover the requirements for all work associated with the second floor interior painting project at Mozingo Event Center, which includes all four (4) banquet rooms, soft room, lobby, stairwell, and vestibule. Surface Preparation 1. Cleaning and Dust Removal: Surfaces to be painted must be clean and free of dust, dirt, grease, and other contaminants. The contractor shall thoroughly clean all surfaces using appropriate cleaning agents to ensure optimal adhesion of the paint. 2. Patchwork and Repairs: Inspect all walls and ceilings for any visible imperfections using suitable patching compounds and materials. Ensure that all patched areas are sanded smooth to create a seamless surface. 3. Sanding: Sand any surfaces needed to remove rough spots, old paint, or any irregularities on the surface to create a smooth and uniform texture. 4. Masking and Taping: Carefully mask, cover and tape off areas that are not intended to be painted, such as moldings, trims, windows, signage and doors. Painting 1. Application Method: The contractor has the option to choose the application method based on their expertise and preferences. They can either spray or roll the paint to achieve an even coverage and smooth finish. 2. Primer: Apply primer as needed. Contractor to provide amount and brand of primer needed for City to purchase. 3. Paint Type: Apply high-quality paint in the color specified by the City. Contractor to provide amount of paint and brand needed for City to purchase. 4. Coverage: Ensure even coverage and a smooth finish. 5. Quality: Maintain a high standard of workmanship, regardless of the chosen application method. Finishing 1. Debris Removal: Remove all painting-related debris, including empty paint cans, used drop cloths, painter's tape, and any other materials associated with the project. Disposal of debris should be done off-site, and is the responsibility of the contractor to arrange for proper disposal. 2. Surface Cleaning: Wipe down all surfaces to remove any residual dust, paint specks, or smudges resulting from the painting process. Surfaces include walls, windows, trim, signage, and any other areas that might have been affected during painting. 3. Floor Protection: Ensure that floors are thoroughly cleaned and free of any paint splatters or spills. 4. Touch-up Work: Inspect all painted surfaces for consistency and quality. Perform any necessary touch-up work to fix imperfections, ensuring a seamless and professional finish. 5. Waste Disposal: Dispose of all hazardous materials, such as used paint thinner or cleaning agents, in an environmentally responsible manner, adhering to local regulations and guidelines. Proposals will remain valid for sixty (60) days following the bid opening. The apparent low and best bid will be presented to the City Council for formal approval. The successful contractor will receive a contract from the City of Maryville to perform the work as submitted in proposal documents. The successful contractor will work with staff to determine a timeline for completion of the project.
