General Information El Paso County School District No. 8 (a.k.a., Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8) spans 150 square miles including the City of Fountain, Fort Carson Military Installation, Rock Creek, and the rural areas surrounding these locations. The City of Fountain is located approximately seven miles south of Colorado Springs. The District is governed by a Board of Education consisting of five members elected at large for staggered four-year terms. The district has approximately 1,200 full and part-time employees. El Paso County School District No. 8 has a membership of approximately 8,000 students in preschool through grade 12. The District has eight elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school, one alternative high school, and other specialized schools and support facilities. Purpose of Request El Paso County School District No. 8 is requesting electronic quotes for the purchase of a variety of network switches and related equipment to connect computer devices. Equipment Specifications Mandatory Minimum Solution Requirements/Equipment Requested for Replacing Switches: This request is for hardware only. Must be HP/Aruba switches or equivalent. Switch OS must support QoS, multiple VLANs, trunking, etc. Switch must support SFP+ (1 Gbps and 10 Gbps) as noted in equipment description below. Switch must support PoE+ and/or PoE++ as noted in equipment description below. All equipment must be new and unused (grey market equipment will not be accepted). Product must be covered by the full manufacturer warranty. Equipment should make use of High Availability features. No racks are needed.
