As of April 23, 2025, an architect and a construction manager at risk has been selected. Design is underway and this project is in the pre-construction negotiated status. It is anticipated sub-bidding will commence in July 2025, with construction starting in October 2025. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: A. The building delivery method is Construction Manager (CM) at Risk. B. Fire Station 3 is located at 4322 El Jobean Road, Port Charlotte and is to be replaced within the geographical response time. Design shall be in accordance with the County fire station prototype design standards, and also support property evaluation and selection. C. Fire Station 6 is located at 27589 Disston Avenue, Punta Gorda and is to be replaced within the geographical response time. Design shall be in accordance with the County fire station prototype design standards, and also support property evaluation and selection. D. Fire Station 17 shall be built around the Tuckers Grade Boulevard and Tamiami Trail area, based on geographical response time. Design shall be in accordance with the County fire station prototype design standards, and also support property evaluation and selection. Charlotte County is requesting proposals from qualified Contractors to provide professional Construction Manager at Risk services as part of a construction team, which includes design consultants and the County for Fire Stations 3, 6, and 17.
