Barrington Community Unit School District 220 Barrington Middle School - Prairie Campus IL Route 68 (Dundee Road) Off-Site Roadway Improvements Barrington, Illinois 3.PREQUALIFICATION OF BIDDERS: All bidders will submit along with their respective bid documents, a resume of similar projects performed, enumerated as to location, type of work, approximate completion date, and project engineering firm. Additionally, all bidders will submit a list of equipment owned by, or available to them, for the efficient pursuance of the project. Note: Work in the Right-of-Way (ROW) will require Contractor to be pre-qualified and provide a bond to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). 5.WAGES OF EMPLOYEES: Not less than the prevailing rate of wages as found by the Department of Labor or determined by a court on review shall be paid to all laborers, workers and mechanics performing work under this contract. Certified payroll documentation of general contractor's and all sub-contractors' laborers will be required. 6.REJECTION OF BIDS: The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and bidders and to waive technicalities. 8.DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Project will include but not limited to: hot-mix asphalt surface and binder courses, HMA pavement patching, PCC sidewalk removal and replacement, PCC concrete curb removal and replacement, landscape restoration, storm sewer improvements, pavement markings, other items needed to complete the proposed improvements within the School Property and IDOT ROW. This project is to be bid as a lump sum contract with supplemental unit prices. 9.BID SECURITY: Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond or Certified Check for ten percent (10%) of the base bid made payable to the Barrington Community Unit School District 220 shall accompany the bid. 11.CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE: The Contractor shall begin the work to be performed under the contract after Monday, June 3, 2024. The Contractor shall be substantially complete by Friday, August 2, 2024 and final completion by Friday, August 9, 2024. Substantial Completion is defined as all improvements except restoration. Final completion is defined as restoration and punch list items. In case of failure to complete the work on time, liquidated damages shall be assessed in accordance with Article 108.09 of the Standard Specifications or other applicable BDE Special Provisions shall apply.
