The City of Algona is currently soliciting proposals for janitorial services for the Algona Welcome Center. The proposal asks for bids on the minimum requirements of the City for services. All bids must meet the minimum requirements. Proposals will be evaluated based on the following: Monthly cost of services. Experience of the submitting firm. Location of firm. All bidders must be able to provide their own cleaning equipment and cleaning supplies. While price and location shall be important factors in the evaluations, these shall not exclusively be the determining factors. The city has the right to accept or reject any or all proposals and to waive any informalities in the review process. The Welcome Center provides public restrooms and free Wifi for Algona visitors and the community. Non-profit, charitable and civic organizations may rent the lobby area and/or the windowsills for events or displays. Regular hours for the Welcome Center are: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday During the holiday season and some city celebrations the hours may be extended. The Welcome Center is closed for the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
