Public Notes: In general, work includes a new slab on grade, 4,210+ sf building addition on the east side of the existing building and 543 sf of interior renovation. Two new Early Childhood Classrooms will be constructed within the building addition that include restroom facilities and new millwork and finishes to blend with the existing building. The interior renovation work consists of dividing an existing classroom into two separate rooms for planning and storage needs - no restroom work included. The existing Corridor will be extended to the east along the length of the new classrooms with mechanical/custodial space created to support the addition. Mechanically, new heat pumps will serve the addition with return air low on the wall in each classroom. The new additions will tie into the existing heat pump piping system. The existing geothermal wellfield will be utilized and does not require expansion for this project. New LED light fixtures and lighting controls including occupancy sensors, dimmers, and photocells will be provided per energy code. New exterior concrete stairs and sidewalks will be installed, and a corner of the existing cafeteria room will be modified for the building addition. Structure to be steel post and beam construction that will support steel bar joints and metal deck with light gauge metal stud framing for the interior partitions. Exterior walls to match the existing building with multiple colors of 8" x 8" brick and 2' x 2' precast architectural cast stone around the windows and entryways. New aluminum storefront entrances and windows will match the existing aluminum storefront framing. Roofing material for the building addition will be a SBS Modified Bituminous Roofing membrane.
