Demolition and site work for a fire / police facility in Cabot, Vermont. Completed plans call for the demolition of a fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.
The project consists of a total price not to exceed for the following work. The complete demolition and removal of the structure and foundation at 2947 Main Street, Cabot Vermont, and all associated hazard materials that may exist above and below grade. Note: The existing site was a municipal firehouse structure undermined due to the July storms and red-tagged by the State of Vermont Department of Public Safety. Demolition of 2947 Main Street, Cabot The Town of Cabot is requesting a bid for demolition of 2947 Main Street (Old Fire Department Building). The contractor would report directly to the Cabot Fire Chief. Any questions please contact him at Chief@Cabotfiredept.com Work shall start within 5 days of the award of bid by the Cabot Select Board. The Cabot Select Board has the right to reject any and all bids. o The complete demolition and removal of the structure and foundation at 2947 Main Street, Cabot Vermont, and all associated hazard materials that may exist above and below grade. Note: The existing site was a municipal firehouse structure undermined due to the July storms and redtagged by the State of Vermont Department of Public Safety. o THE BUILDING IS LOCATED AN ESTIMATED 12 FT FROM A 29 FT UNSTABLE RIVERBANK DROP-OFF IN THE REAR. o ALL DEMOING MUST BE PERFORMED ONLY FROM THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING. o NO FURTHER DAMAGE TO THE RIVER EMBANKMENT IS PERMITTED UNLESS STABILIZATION / REPAIR IS ACCEPTED AND DONE ACCORDING TO THE STATE OF VERMONT SPECIFICATIONS AND AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO THE TOWN OF CABOT. o Before starting, the entire project must be properly tested with a certified 3 rd party agency for any known/unknown hazardous materials that may exist within or around the project limits. A copy of the report must be submitted to the Town Clerk's Office. o Properly remove any unknown hazards (including possible asbestos removal that may be found) located at 2947 Main Street Cabot Vermont with a copy of the documentation (paper trail) and report from the testing agency to the Cabot Town Clerk's Office including the destination/disposal of any such hazardous material found. o Testing of all floor drain locations (bay areas, meeting area) for possible contaminants for any hazardous material runoff that may have existed into the ground. Copy of testing report submitted to the Cabot Town Clerk's office. o Total removal of structure, including any foundation or concrete slabs or supports. o Copy of any/all other hazardous testing results submitted to Cabot Town Clerks' office. o Accompanied with your bid is a copy of the bidder's Insurance policy submitted to the Cabot Town Clerk's office and any subcontractor licensing & and insurance certificates o A silt fence and an independent temporary construction fence must be installed around the project site during demolition. o The paved parking area to the north shall remain starting at the demark line. The contractor must cut the demark line. o The site must be kept "damp" during the demoing process to prevent air-born particles. o U.S. Environmental Protection Agency USEPA 10 (business days) notification before/and compliance during demolition must be done. o National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) notification before/ and compliance during demolition must be done o Notification before/ and compliance during demolition must be done with Environmental Health, Vermont Department of Health -108 Cherry Street, Suite 201 Burlington, VT 05401 o Removal of all known hazards (i.e., known above-grade oil tank on the west side possible septic tank located in the ground to the rear and side, one oil furnace, and existing oil lines throughout the structure). o Removal of the existing draining catch basin in the grass area. o Removal of existing lamp post in parking area. o Electrical service shall be moved to a pedestal (meter combo with four breaker positions) as per site print by a fully qualified subcontractor. All electrical permits and state inspections are the responsibility of the contractor with copies of permits, VT Electrical Master licenses, and inspections delivered to Cabot Town Clerk's Office. o 2" PVC spare conduit shall be installed from pole to meter pedestal and capped at both ends 18" above grade with a pull line installed. o 6" of crushed stone base compacted shall be installed over any disturbed area with a 2" topcoat of dirt then seeded and hay. o a 368 ft permanent 3-rail white PVC (box type safety fence equivalent to AgTec) shall be installed as per site print after completion of the demo. o The Cabot Town Clerk's Office shall retain ownership of the following which shall be carefully disassembled and packaged by the contractor and placed on pallets ready for off-site removal by others. o 2 12x12 garage doors and accessories (track, rollers. Brackets, etc.) o 4 electric door openers o One metal fire door w/ frame (located between bays and the meeting area). o Departments sign above bays o Caution ** Buried power and phone lines into the building**. Dig safe must be notified before the start of demolition. o Removal and proper capping with inspection approval by H20 Inc. before covering and recording the exact locations of the existing utilities. (Recording data to be filed by the Cabot Town Clerk in the site deed) o Structural backfill and compaction of the entire foundation limits with an "approved structural material" equal to wash 3/4" max crush stone or bedrock product. o The contractor would report directly to the Cabot Fire Chief.
